Field of Study 11: Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus

One of 11 specializations in Environmental Engineering at TUM

The Nexus@TUM teaching curriculum is imbedded in the TUM international master program in Environmental Engineering within the School of Engineering and Design. This program is designed for 4 semesters and is offered in English. It provides students with advanced knowledge and methodologies within eleven thematic fields of specialization (Fields of Study FoS), one of which is the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus (FoS11). To supplement these specializations, a number of cross-cutting methodological and elective courses are chosen. A study project and a 6-month master’s thesis both offer opportunities to work on subject-specific topics with an applied or research-oriented focus. The curriculum consists of a total of 120 credits ECTS, with 78 credits assigned to course and lab work, 12 credits for the applied study project, and 30 credits for the master’s thesis.
